Skills
------

Nine years of Unix(FreeBSD) system administration (from version 2.2 to
CURRENT), ISP network administration and billing software development.

Good knowledge of FreeBSD system and Cisco networking hardware and
using it for network design and security. Understand how systems and
networks works and is able to apply this knowledge to new, complex
problems. Good programming skills in Perl, shell tools and Python for
administration tasks and software development.

* Programming and software development

  Perl: CGI, mod_perl, HTML::Mason. I use it for our ISP billing
  software development.

  C, C++: have experience to add small features to a C/C++ software,
  to debug bugs and fix it. It not too seldom is needed for a open
  source's software administration.

  Junior experience with Python and Zope3 as I try to use it for the
  next version of our billing software.

  Also I know HTML, Unix shells and tools, SQL, XML (a little),
  Subversion because use it in my tasks.

* Networking

  Cisco networking hardware: 800, 1000, 1600, 1700, 2500, 2950, 3550,
  3600, 3750, 5300 series. FreeBSD based routers/access servers. Zyxel
  DSLAMs. Different LAN switches from Allied Telesyn, D-Link, E-Line,
  3Com, Intel and many others.

  Statefull and stateless firewalls with IPFW, Cisco access lists, TCP
  wrappers and PF. Network sniffing with tcpdump. NAT with Cisco and
  FreeBSD routers using natd, ipnat and PF.

  A solid understanding of routing and routing protocols (policy
  routing, RIP, OSPF). A small experience with BGP. Able to
  troubleshoot network connections/problems.

  Have experience with Ethernet, Frame Relay, HDLC, xDSL, LRE, HPNA,
  ISDN/PRI/R2/E1 (G.703), VPN/PPTP/GRE/PPPoE/IPSec, PPP.

  A solid understanding and experience of TCP/IP, SNMP,
  SMTP/POP3/IMAP/UUCP, NNTP, HTTP/FTP, DNS, NFS, NTP, Telnet/SSH/RSH,
  TACACS/RADIUS, DHCP, IRC, Jabber/XMPP, SSL and other
  protocols. Knowledge of protocol internals.

* Databases

  Experience of installation and administration of PostgreSQL, MySQL

Employment history
------------------

* March 1998 - present

  System administrator and billing software developer of VolgaLink
  ISP.

  My duties are:

  1. Management of 24x7 system which provides all sorts of ISP
     services (DNS, DHCP, NNTP, SMTP, VPN, POP3, IMAP and so on). The
     servers park consists of x86 based servers running FreeBSD. This
     task includes design and management of

     * ISP network with using of OSPF routing protocol, BGP, policy
       routing, firewalls, netflow accounting, P2P tunnels, NAT and so
       on, over wide range of media.

     * Access to Internet for customers using Dial-Up, VPN (PPTP,
       PPPoE, OpenVPN) and metro Ethernet with Authentication,
       Authorization and Accounting.

     * VoIP system, based on SIP and Asterisk, for our office and
       support department.

     * Traffic and resources monitoring using SNMP, Cacti and Nagios.

     * Mail service with virus and SPAM protection based on Postfix,
       ClamAV and Dspam.

     * WWW, mail and DNS hosting for customers.

     * public Jabber/XMPP server volgograd.ru with ejabberd.

     * Transparent HTTP proxy cluster.

     * NNTP news server based on INN.

  2. Development and supporting our ISP billing system (on a basis of
     Perl, Apache, mod_perl, HTML::Mason, MySQL, freeradius,
     nginx). Key features is:

     * "hot" accounting of dialup and VPN connections.

     * IP accounting.

     * flexible tariff plans.

     * a secured (SSL) WWW interface for administrators and customers.

     * a virtual WWW and mail hosting, MySQL and PostgreSQL databases
       hosting, mail lists hosting.
